Deschutes County-based Glass House Grown recently won the Best Concentrate award at the Cannabis Classic during the 3rd Annual Holiday Harvest Festival cannabis competition.
25 cultivators submitted 42 entries, but only four received first place trophies; and Glass House Grown was one of them.
The cultivator/processor, which opened in 2014, won Best Concentrate with their solventless Blackberry Cream Rosin, which is a product of their Blackberry Cream flower, a cross between Blackberry Kush and Cookies & Cream, bred by Exotic Genetics.
The rosin’s THC potency was measured at 79.05% by Eugene-based Iron Laboratories, who performed testing for each Cannabis Classic competition sample for the third year in a row.
Overall, Blackberry Cream Rosin won with a score of 85.7 out of 100, just enough to outfinish Dab Society’s Larry OG Live Resin, which took second place with an 85.5.
Completing the order of finish were Strawberry Cookies Live Resin, Lemonade Live Resin, Shishkaberry Rosin, Privada 2017 Live Resin and Tree of Life Rosin.
“Very nice mind hug that comes on immediately,” one Cannabis Classic judge said when describing the winning concentrate. “A burst of cerebral energy that is really inspirational and uplifting.”
Glass House Grown is no stranger to the winner’s circle. Since 2014, Glass House Grown has won 10 awards across various cannabis competitions throughout Oregon. In fact, Glass House Grown won the 2016 Cannabis Classic’s Highest THC award with their flower Blackberry Cream. In total, GHG has won six awards for their fresh-pressed rosin and four awards for their high-quality flower.
