Corvallis-based Happy Cabbage Farms recently won the Best Indica award at the Cannabis Classic during the 3rd Annual Holiday Harvest Festival cannabis competition in Portland.
20 cultivators submitted 35 entries, but only three received first place trophies; and Happy Cabbage Farms was one of them.
Happy Cabbage Farms, which opened in 2016, won Best Indica with its strain called Blue Magoo, a cross between a DJ Short Blueberry and Willie’s Wonder. Described as being powerful and sedative, Blue Magoo helps against insomnia, anxiety and stress.
Blue Magoo’s THC potency was measured at 29.61% by Eugene-based Iron Laboratories, who performed testing for each Cannabis Classic competition sample for the third year in a row.
Overall, Blue Magoo won with a score of 83 out of 100, enough to edge out Eco Firma Farms Hazey Girl, which took second place with a score of 82.7
Completing the order of finish were Mindful Kush (Mindful Canna), Obama Kush (Oregon Roots), Obama Kush (Trichome Farms), Lightsaber (Happy Cabbage Farms), TJ’s Purple Kush (TJ’s Garden), Afgoo (Emerald Cannabis Worx), Hindu Kush (E. Abram), Cali Hulk (H&H Gardens) and Black Cherry Punch (Chloenecker Organics).
“Quite possibly one of the finest buds I have ever had the pleasure of smoking,” one Cannabis Classic judge said. “This is top three, if not number one, in every category. What else can I say? Just really excellent”
